LOVING AT THE MOMENT.

what i'm loving at the moment (and will continue to love forever and ever):

shoes

my mother recently went through her closet and gave me some of her shoes. ok, so “gave” is a loose term, maybe i borrowed them. but they are too gorgeous to leave in a box! i am also loving the tare by naughty monkey shoes (these are my second pairs, only so i can have another pair!).

papaw

it really helps with dry skin and burns. it also makes your skin feel so soft! my skin feels great at the moment and i owe it all to this baby.

blonde shampoo and conditioner

i don’t use purple shampoo for my blonde hair, but i am loving the jonh frieda sheer blonde shampoo and conditioner. i feel like my hair is lighter with different tones and just the colour i want! it is so inexpensive, and my hair looks like i coloured it the other day (minus the regrowth).

ukulele

i’ve been trying to learn the ukulele. i am very bad at it. my cousin jemma *hint hint nudge nudge* should teacher me (she plays guitar and is amazing at it - i can hear her play in her room (-; )!

big apple red opi nail polish

this is the best nail polish and the best colour. i think red goes with everything and it has a matte look that i am way too poor to afford – ha!

avocado

who doesn’t love a good avo? i love it with toast, or a great garden salad, or even by itself – ya feelin’ me?! there are masks that you can do with avocado, but i just couldn't waste it for my skin (hence forth the papaw).

WHAT'S HAPPENING.

here are some little photos that document what has been happening in my little, boring life. i have been busy, but maddy thinks that i still let down the blog. thanks, maddy.

my sister recently moved into a new house and i was lucky enough to decorate some of the rooms. she has the most amazing collection of random yet beautiful things! my favourite is the bull with the women lying on top of it. though the photo does not give it justice, it is so gorgeous! congrats to finally moving into the house, juls!

we are getting ready to eventually sell our house and we painted one of our brick walls white! we were a bit apprehensive at first because we usually cement render the brick, but this is much cheaper and really pretty! the room is my mum's walk through wardrobe and we think this is going to be a real sell point (i mean, hello - that is my dream!). the room looks great and i would recommend painting brick!

though, my days are very boring. i love porridge at the moment. tea always makes things better, and the television show suits is amazing. i keep on thinking i am a lawyer after watch an episode and well, no one really likes that. we are also trying to make an effort in the family, and we have been having weekly lunches or dinners. family is important, and should always come first! i also read this really cute, article that talks about the top 50 australian books to read before you die! i recommend this list and i even have some sitting next to my bed to read next (our family is a big lover of tim winton)! it is really important to support the people in industries that are from your country!

NEEDING SOME INSPIRATION.

i need help with two completely different things.

1. this blog if you haven't noticed yet, is pretty boring (display boring). i've changed the blog around a little bit. not big, not fancy. a white background with some nice writing. but that's it. if you haven't noticed in my blog picture, maddy is in the background. she's reading a book and i'm pretty sure for my caption was 'book worm or notice me' on instagram a couple of years ago. but that is a very old picture, and it's time for an update. mainly because i have blonde hair now, and that photo was taken with my iphone, in a car. so, this is something that really i'll be doing. i have some lovely blogs that have given me inspiration: Love Taza, A Beautiful Mess and Oh Happy Day!, which are all wonderful blogs with completely different angles on the blogging world. i'm trying to now create a blog where it isn't just me discussing my life, but also helpful tips and guidance that i have done or am doing.

2. my room. i have recently moved into a room which was once a lounge room. it has a big old fire place (that doesn't work!) and has more than 2 doors to get out! i am having trouble decorating, and this is mainly in my closest area and the fire place. i have ideas but need inspiration! painting isn't really an option and hanging photos is a struggle - see my dilemma!

 this is the 'fire place'. see what i mean?! i can't really do anything with it, so this is some of my ideas!

 these are my favourite prints. they are both cards but i will be hanging them up. in the first print, my sister wrote who would be sitting on which table, and then a little dialogue between her husband and her.  and the second print is from vietnam. it reminds me of maddy and i, and those crazy hats!

some inspirations for the fire place. both from printerest. i'm loving the idea of having the books in the fire place and then a lot of pictures with different frames, sizes and colours.

i procrastinated yesterday and have an idea of how i want the fireplace to look like. i want to hang as many photos on the wall, but for a 15 minute diy, i think this went well. i printed some things off the internet, and had spare lights that were from typo a few years ago. this was a quick fix, and isn’t the end product, but i can deal with it for the mean time!

SORRY.

i start with 'sorry' pretty much in every post, so i kind of thought why not just make it a title and talking about the things that i'm sorry for...

i'm sorry i don't send letters. i write them, but never, ever, send them.

i'm sorry i'm too lazy to shower after exercising.

i'm sorry that i get scared to call up places and then make people call up and pretend they are me and then take credit for calling. yep, i do that.

i'm sorry i can't make decisions, but i don't like them and they scare me, so i'll pass.

i'm sorry i talk too much about people too much.

i'm sorry i haven't figured out what i am giving up for lent. to be fair i had no idea, and i'd been to mass recently. i'm feeling biscuits. 

i'm sorry i wear outfits more than once but i paid $60 for that skirt, i want my wear.

i'm sorry that i leave the toothpaste lid off and it dries up and then i have to scrape it off and then i do it again.

i'm sorry i can watch an entire season in one sitting. (i hope everyone can do this, yeah?!)

i'm sorry i'm so boring.
i'm sorry that i'm a terrible speller. but to be honest, it is my mothers' fault.

p.s. i’m not sorry wearing this awesome hat in veitnam. i now wear it mowing our lawns, and i feel awesome. 

p.p.s. or looking like a tourist in a foreign country. why is it ok to wear daggy clothes there, but not in your own country? (or is that just me?!)

READING.

one of the things that i love to do is read. my nana is a reader, my mum, maddy and so is my older brother. i read every night before i go to bed, and i love to read on the train. sitting on a quiet carriage to and fro uni is great. i really recommend it! i know that when uni becomes more stressful and the assignments pile on i wont have time to read on the train, so i am taking advantage of the first couple of weeks!

i've been reading this book called plays for radio and television. so, not a book but a play. it doesn't have any female roles (most of the plays are from the 1950s!), but i love to act out these male roles whether i'm a prime minister or a colonel. 

i'm also reading the last divergent book. i read the other two in vietnam and we couldn't, for obvious reasons, find the last one until we were at the airport!

jane eyre. loved. thought it would be boring, but it was so good, i was hooked.

i also read ipad books during the week. they are stupid romance novels, and i can usually read one during the day. they are highly addictive, but just fun to read and zone out.

HELLO THERE.

this blog was supposed to be posted on the weekend. pretend it was posted on the weekend. thank you.

maddy keeps on technology abusing me, and sending me tweets about how i don't use this a lot. but, what am i supposed to write?! "today i was vomited on by my 14 month old nephew and it was exorcist style" or "i love cooking meals, but i'm too poor to buy pretty food and cook it, so i buy pre ravioli shells"?! i mean, i don't think so. but i'm clearly doing the boring thing, and writing this little tiny blog so that maddy will get off my back, and the blog-stoppers (i made that up) don't shut me down. 

uni starts this coming monday. i'm not ready. i have a lot of decisions to make.

my dad and fambam are up from melbourne to celebrate our brother's 10th birthday party, crazy. 

one of my favourite cousins has moved in. i love it.

i have blonde hair.

i’m watching one born every minute and the mum-to-be says: “i wish we bonked (look it up if you don’t know the word) last night because we won’t be doing that for a while. the dad-to-be said: “well, not with you”. gold.

VIETNAM.

Vietnam was an amazing experience. As a young adult I believe that we should be able to explore the world, however, that should be mixed in with an education. I am fortunate enough to have loving parents, who for the past couple years have been saving up for this trip. They did not have to take us, but they did, and I am so grateful for the worldly knowledge of a country so different from Australia. We, which included my twin sister, my mum and step-dad, travelled from South to North Vietnam for three weeks. We also stopped at Singapore for a couple of days before our real travels began. I loved Vietnam. The people are so kind and the country is beautiful. However, the traffic was scary, the thought of guys on motorbikes do not appeal to me anymore and I am now a boss at chopsticks. Here are some photos, and I have been given severe instructions that some photos were taken by Maddy.
